Toddler mauled to death by stray dogs in Goa

PANAJI: A 15-month-old girl was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs at Durgabhat in Ponda this morning. The attack took place just outside the child's residence.

According to witnesses, the toddler had barely stepped out of her house and was waiting for her mother to take her for Friday prayers when the dogs attacked. Locals rushed to her aid and attempted to drive the dogs away, but the child sustained severe injuries. She was immediately shifted to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Enraged by the incident, local residents stated that garbage is frequently dumped in the area where the incident occurred, attracting stray dogs in search of food. They have called on the administration to implement strict measures to control the stray dog population and ensure public safety.
