Touts at Dabolim airport to face action

MARGAO
South Goa District Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Dhania had a meeting with the stakeholders, including RTO and traffic police officials, besides taxi associations to put an end to touts at the Dabolim airport and work out a solution for vehicular parking.

The SP, South called the meeting following complaints that touts and unauthorised persons take away the customers when there’s a taxi counter at the Dabolim airport.

After the meeting, SP Dhania informed that instructions had been issued to the RTO and the traffic police to come down heavily on the touts operating at the airport. The SP said action against the illegal touts would start immediately outside the Dabolim airport.

He further informed that the meeting took stock of the parking space constraint experienced outside the Dabolim airport, creating congestion. In this respect, the SP pointed out that the authorities have been told to explore the possibility of identifying suitable land in the vicinity for a long-term solution to the problem of vehicular parking.
