Traffic diversion on NH66 at Merces

Traffic will be diverted along a 30-metre stretch of the NH66 at Merces from February 22 till March 31, to carry out part work on one culvert on the left-hand side lane of the main carriageway.

In a notification issued on Thursday, Jude Carvalho, Executive Engineer, Works Division VII (NH), PWD, and Administrator of NH66 from Patradevi to Zuari bridge, stated that work to dismantle pipe culverts and construction of box culverts on NH66 at Merces in the State is in progress.

“There is a need to divert traffic proceeding from Panaji to Margao on the Right Hand Side (RHS) lane of main carriageway for a short stretch of 30m, in order to carry out part work of one culvert on Left Hand Side (LHS) lane of main carriageway,” stated Carvalho.

Carvalho has notified a two-way movement of traffic on Right Hand Side (RHS) lane of NH-66 for a stretch of 30 mtrs from February 22 till March 31, to facilitate hindrance-free and speedy completion of the part work.

“Prominent signboards mentioning diversion route shall be displayed at the diversion location by the contracting agency in addition to all required road safety measures, as per laid-down guidelines of IRC and MoRTH,” Carvalho added.
