Two Kolhapur natives were arrested for committing theft in a house in Mapusa, Police informed.
The accused identified as Sangeeta Vilas Gosavi and Sunita Rajaram Gosavi were arrested committing theft of goods including a drill machine, grinder cutter and other items from a house in Gaunsavaddo, Mapusa.
According to the complainant Raj Chari who is the owner of the house the incident took place at around 7 am on Monday when two unknown women entered into his house and committed theft of a hammer, drill machine, grinder cutter and a chisel besides electrical cable kept in the verandah of the house.
The total value of the goods robbed was around Rs 16,000.
Police informed that the entire incident has been recorded on the CCTV camera installed in the complainant’s house.
Based on the CCTV footage, Mapusa Police managed to nab the accused women. The accused women are originally from Kolhapur but are presently residing at Guirim.
Mapusa Police have registered an offence under section 380 r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
