Demanding that the licences of the controversial structure in Old Goa be revoked and the structure demolished, Cumbarjua Congress Block President Vishal Volvoikar said he was kept in total darkness about the structure which has come up within heritage precincts.
“As a local panch, I had only seconded the proposal for the repair license as there were all approvals from authorities like ASI, TCP, CRZ and others,” he added.
“I was not aware of the fraud conducted then and had only seconded the resolution as a local panch and the same was proposed by then sarpanch Vinayak Fadte,” Volvoikar stated.
“I did not go into the details whether the license was asked for repair of a structure much beyond what was existing,” he clarified.
“But what has been done is totally illegal as in my lifetime, I never saw such a structure existing at that site. There was a small loja there. How that got converted into a huge structure should be investigated,” Volvoikar informed.
