UP man arrested in Arambol raid with 600 gms of ganja

Mandrem Police have arrested one person in a narcotics raid.

According to Senior Deputy Police Officer (SDPO) Pernem Jivba Dalvi, Shahid, aged 45, and hailing from Sabitnagar, District Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was taken into custody for unlawful possession of Ganja.

The operation took place in the early hours on Friday at Madhalawada, Arambol, where Mandrem Police personnel successfully seized 600 grams of Ganja valued at Rs 60,000 from the suspect. The accused has been charged under Section 20 (b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and has been placed under arrest.

Heading the raiding team was Police Inspector Sherif Jaques, accompanied by Police Sub-Inspectors Jugal Divkar, Paresh Kale, Pravin Shimepuruskar, and Police Constables Vijay Gaikwad, Mallesh Joodi, Rajesh Shirgaonkar, and Sarvesh Mandrekar from Mandrem Police Station.

Further investigations are underway under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) North Akshat Kaushal, IPS, and SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi.
