Verna Police on Thursday arrested one Michael Martin on charges of stealing a mobile phone from a residential flat near MES College at Sancoale.
Sources said Martin, a native of Uttar Pradesh but residing at Kharewada, was a habitual offender and was arrested under section 380 IPC.
"We had received a complaint on Wednesday from one Priya Tamong (27) living in Aman Colony that an unknown accused had entered her residential flat from the main door and stole her mobile worth Rs 20,000," said the source.
PSI Anand Gaonkar is further investigating the case under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
