Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhaava' made tax-free in Goa

PANAJI: The Goa government has announced that the Hindi film 'Chhaava', based on the life of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, will be tax-free in the state. 

Taking to X, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated, "It gives me pleasure to announce that the movie 'Chhaava', based on the life and sacrifice of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, will be tax-free in Goa."

The biopic drama starring Vicky Kaushal in the role of legendary Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, was released in theatres on February 14. 

Sawant added that the film highlights the bravery and sacrifice of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who fought against the Mughals and the Portuguese. He described the warrior king’s life as an inspiration for all and praised the film for bringing this chapter of history to the screen.

Goa is the second State after Madhya Pradesh to grant film tax-free status.
