MARGAO
Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai said that Madgavkars will decide how they want to go about in Margao as the fort of the Congress turned Margao MLA showed signs of crumbling on Tuesday.
“I am no one to decide what will be done in Margao after the election results. People of Margao, right from Moti Dongor to Fakir Bandh and other areas have shown the MLA his place. I am not in any haste to enter Margao. It is for the people of Margao to decide their fate”, he told the media after he reached the counting centre to wish Captain Viriato Fernandes after his victory in the Lok Sabha election.
Sardesai, however, warned that he and the people of Margao will not remain silent spectators if any attempt is being made to threaten the people of Moti Dongor for voting against Kamat and the BJP.
“I have been told that a religious leader from Moti Dongor has been forced to leave the area between polling day and results. We will not tolerate any goondagiri at Moti Dongor. Instead of letting goons loose at Moti Dongor, Kamat should introspect why the poor people of Moti Dongor has voted against him and the BJP”, he said, warning that people of Margao will take care of the goons if they terrorize the people on Moti Dongor.
To a question, Sardesai said the Digambar Kamat would have lost the Lok Sabha election by around 50,000 votes if he had to cross swords against Captain Viriato Fernandes. “Hence, I repeat the Brand Dempo is bigger than brand BJP”, he asserted.
