According to the draft 'jetty policy' development of infrastructure like jetties, floating pontoons, jetty terminal building and other infrastructure, to ensure balancing of interests of tourists and stakeholders and for smooth, professional and safe conduct of cruise tourism activities is its goal.
Regulating any passenger cruise vessel for tourism purposes, specifying clear and practical terms and conditions in relation to use of government owned jetties for tourism purposes, including existing and new proposed jetties, regulate passenger cruise operations in Goa, ensure minimum standard basic services, safety and security are some stated objectives cited.
The policy however excludes casinos, personal boats, barges, ferries and other transport vessels which do not cater to tourism and leisure segments, the draft claimed.
