In a tragic accident, a 65-year old woman pillion rider died in a road accident after her dupatta accidentally got entangled in the rear wheel of the motorcycle.
The pillion rider, Adeline D’Souza, a resident of Murida-Cuncolim succumbed to her injuries. She was declared brought dead at the Goa Medical College and hospital, Bambolim on Monday.
Cuncolim police station in-charge, PI Tukaram Chawan informed that she was pillion riding on a Pulsor motorcycle early morning with her son. When the duo reached at Baga-Ambelim, the dupatta of the pillion rider got entangled in the rear wheel of the motorcycle, due to which the woman fell down on the road and sustained grievous injuries.
She was immediately rushed to the Balli Primary Health Centre, from where she was shifted to the district hospital and later taken to GMC, Bambolim, where she was declared brought dead.
“From our enquires, it is revealed that the deceased person fell down from the motorcycle as her dupatta accidently got entangled into the rear wheel and succumbed to injuries”, PI Chawan said.
