Woman killed in road mishap at Sancoale

A 45-year-old woman was killed while her husband and their minor son were injured on Monday afternoon after a private bus collided with their scooter near Upasnagar-Sancoale.
According to reports, Antonio Dourado (54) was riding the scooter, with his wife Piedade Andrade Dourado, and their son, Joy (12) as pillion riders.
A private bus, driven by Ramchandra Shinde (40) of Chicalim, struck them from behind as they were turning towards Shindolem at the Upasnagar Junction.
All three family members were flung on the road with the impact.
Piedade suffered grievous injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead on arrival by by doctors.
Antonio and Joy while also injured and are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Verna police have registered a case of accidental death, and the bus driver has been detained for further investigation.
