CANACONA
Deputy Speaker and Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes has assured that most works in Canacona taluka which have been left pending for many years would be taken on priority.
He was addressing a gathering after launching the work to hotmix roads at Palolem, Ourem, Patnem, Shingalem (Ponsulem), Mastimoll and Sakrevall in Canacona municipality, in the presence of the ward councillors concerned and a group of residents.
The hotmixing of roads had been pending for a time and Fernandes got these works approved and tendered during the Covid lockdown periods. Authorities were awaiting the completion of the monsoons to begin the work.
According to the deputy speaker, hotmixing will be done on the road from Madhu Mayekar’s house to Prashant Mathondkar’s house (Ward 10, Palolem-II], from Premanand Naik’s house to Maria Fernandes’ house (Ward 9, Ourem Palolem), various roads in Ward 7 (Patnem), the main road from Ponsulem to Shingalem (Ward 4, Ponsulem), NH17 to Mallikarjun College and 4 linking internal roads in Mastimol ward and the road leading from NH 17 to Sakhreval (Mastimoll).
Fernandes requested the public to put forward their grievances and assured that most works which were pending for many years would be taken on priority.
Others present during the event included PWD (roads) engineers, ward councillors, Canacona BJP Mandal President Nandip Bhagat, BJYM President Sanju Pagui, BJP Vice-President (South) Mahesh Naik.
