Yuri dares CM to publish white paper on Goa's financial status

MARGAO
Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Wednesday dared Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to release a 'white paper' on the financial status of Goa and the employment scenario in the State.

He said the people of Goa should know how many jobs were provided in the last 11 years by the BJP government and how the BJP pushed Goa into "financial bankruptcy".

“Going by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s reaction on SKOCH Report on Employment, the CM appeared to be their Spokesperson. If, LPG at Rs 1000, fuel above Rs 100 per ltr, ever-rising prices of essential commodities, rise in corruption and unemployment is a reflection of Viksit Bharat, God save India," stated Leader of Opposition.

Reacting to the statement made by Chief Minister Sawant claiming that the mission of Aatmanirbhar Bharat & Viksit Bharat is reflected in the said report, Yuri slammed the BJP government for its failure to create employment opportunities, controlling corruption and inflation.

“Chief Minister Sawant has rubbed salt on the wounds of all those unemployed youths, homemakers and the common man by making such an irresponsible statement. The insensitivity of BJP stands exposed once again,” Yuri said.

He added: “Last 10 years, people have suffered the most due to pro-rich and anti-poor policies of the BJP government. Demonetisation, COVID-19 mismanagement and wrong implementation of GST have broken the backbone of small and medium industries. The government miserably failed to provide jobs and create employment opportunities."

Drawing the attention of Sawant to the report published by NITI Ayog headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi which revealed Goa stands at the top in the country on unemployment, Yuri said he also wants to remind him of CMIE Reports which "exposed the failure" of the BJP Government on unemployment.

“Yuva Nyay, Naari Nyay, Kisan Nyay, Shramik Nyay and Hissedari Nyay will bring back happy days for the common people of India from June 2024. The identity of Goa will be protected with 21 commitments of Goa Congress," he said.
