‘Staff preoccupied in sourcing RTI info’

Chairperson Shubanghi Vaigankar said that Right to Information (RTI) applications eat a lot of time of the civic staff impacting the delivery of civic service to the common man.

“We get seven to eight RTI applications on a daily basis. Most of the staff is busy collating information for these applications ignoring the routine municipal work. They are afraid that if they do not give information on time, then their salaries will be docked,” Vaigankar said.
