IIT: Phal Dessai warns ‘outsiders’ to back off

SANGUEM

Social Welfare Minister and Sanguem MLA Subhash Phal Dessai on Sunday warned that efforts by “outsiders” to create misunderstanding among people of Rivona would not be tolerated and warned outside forces not to disturb or create any unwanted propaganda against the IIT Goa project in Rivona village.

He was addressing a camp to check eyes and distribute free glasses which was organised by the BJP Mahila Wing at Rivona panchayat.

Stating that residents of Rivona were well aware of what is necessary and unnecessary for them, Phal Dessai said he would be personally involved if residents have any grievances regarding the project.

“While residents of Rivona have given their consent to the project in the village, it is ironical that some outside forces are trying to create misunderstanding among the people and this will not be tolerated,” said Phal Dessai.

“People from outside Rivona should not to interfere with the IIT project in the village and those doing so will face the wrath of villagers from Rivona,” he warned.

He also reiterated that the IIT project would be a win-win situation for residents as it would lead to widespread development in the village.
