We are helpless, says ESI Hospital official

MARGAO

A senior ESI hospital official expressed his helplessness to address the concerns raised by the inmates.

“It is not in our hands over the delay in getting the test reports from Pune. We understand that some of the inmates have been in quarantine for 8-10 days, but we are helpless”, the official added.

The official also expressed his helplessness on the question of the inmates being accommodate in the wards. “Our hospital wards are designed as cubicles and we cannot quarantine each of the inmates separately”, the official said, while commenting on the presence of many inmates in the wards.

As far as home food is concerned, the official pointed out that outside food is being discouraged in the hospital to avoid waste generation coupled with the fact that the meals are being supplied by a contactor. He, however, promised to work out a solution in a day or two if there’s any further delay in the reports coming from Pune.
