PANAJI: Aarna Walavalkar has booked her place in the Girls U-11 finals of the Priority Gaspar Dias Open All-Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025, organised by the Goa Table Tennis Association.
The young paddler pulled off a major upset in the quarter-finals, sweeping past second seed Shaurya Dessai 3-0 with a mix of quick reflexes and clever shot selection. She then showed nerves of steel in the semi-finals, battling through a tense five-setter to edge Claire George 3-2 and seal her spot in the title round.
Awaiting her in the final is top seed Anaya Shukla, who has yet to drop a match in the tournament. With both players bringing contrasting styles and plenty of fight, the title clash is set up for a tense finish.
