PANAJI: Archbishop of Goa and Daman, His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao, has extended his Christmas wishes to the Catholic community and all people of goodwill, calling on everyone to embrace the spirit of the season through love, humility, and fraternity.
In his message, the Archbishop said, “Christmas is a celebration of God’s immense love for humanity. The all‑powerful God humbled Himself to become part of His creation, so as to lift it up and unite it back to Himself.”
Highlighting the challenges of the modern world, he noted that in a society where power and strength are often glorified, peace and justice can seem like distant ideals. “The Child of Bethlehem brings a clear message that love, with humility, can create a world of peace, justice, and fraternity,” he added. He urged the faithful to bring peace to troubled communities, justice to the oppressed, and fraternal love to families, neighbours, and those in need.
Along with Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes, Archbishop Ferrao wished everyone a joyful and blessed Christmas, concluding, “May the love and peace of Jesus be with you always. Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!”
