PANAJI: Goa University has been named among the top 10 universities in India, recognised for its outstanding contribution to geospatial education and promotion of open-source GIS tools. In recognition of this achievement, the University has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Best University (National) Award’ at the National Geospatial Awards 2025.

The award will be presented during the Open Source GIS Day celebrations to be held at IIT Bombay on July 17, under the FOSSEE (GIS) initiative of the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), Ministry of Education, Government of India.
