In a interesting development, Goa Forward party’s Poinguinim candidate Prashant Naik has on Tuesday said that some of the Congress party leaders from Canacona worked for the Congress rebel candidate, resulting in a split in the non-BJP vote to the advantage of the BJP.
He said the presence of the Congress rebel candidate in the fray resulted in the division of the non-BJP vote. “Not only the Congress rebel candidate refused to withdraw from the fray, some of the Congress leaders from Canacona openly worked for the rebel. These Congress leaders went about telling the voters that the Congress rebel candidate in the official candidate of the Congress party”, he added.
