Newly appointed North Goa BJP President Michael Loborevealed that he intended to win the North Goa parliamentary election by 50,000votes in the 2014 parliamentary election.
Riding on the success of the recently held assembly electionand considering the area was a strong hold of the party, Lobo felt he had toensure the vote in the next general election which could be held in 2014 orearlier given the volatile political situation in the centre.
“We want to repeat history by wining North Goa Parliamentaryelection by nearly 50,000 votes, which we won in 1998,” said Lobo.
North Goa Parliamentary seat comprises of 4.93 lakhs voters, with the BJP having1.72 lakhs members a number which could increase in the near future.
“Considering the recently held assembly election results ,of the 17 seats contested by the BJP, we won 12 seats which suggest a BJPstronghold in North,” said Lobo.
To achieve the targets, he said a 54 member North Goacommittee was constituted after consultation with all Madals.
The biggest achievement was that over 821 booth committees were formed and thatall 20 Mandals were constituted beforethe election.
