Why does Vasco’s CoalStack stand next to the inflammable naptha tanks when you yourself told thisnewspaper that these coal stacks did catch fire during dry season?
Why does MPT not havea mechanism to clean up the monsoon runoff from coal stacks into the baydespite the coal berths being so near to the fishing jetty?
Why has MPT notinstalled a Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring station as per the CPCBGuidelines and as directed by the Board till date?
Why should coalhandling happen even on Berth Nos 5A, 6A and 7 besides 10 and 11 when themechanisation of coal handling as you yourself have stated to The Goan is nottop of the line because of cost considerations?

Why should GSPCB notbe held responsible for criminal misconduct by selling out Vasco’s right tobreathe fresh air by giving MPT repeated consents to operate from 2001 tilldate without taking the people in the City into confidence?
Why did GSPCB give MPTa renewal of Consent to Operate on May 23 this year in the peak summer whenVasco was reeling under coal dust?
Why was the Consent toOperate given to MPT without examining there was no system to control themonsoon runoff, of Water and coal dust in the Vasco bay? Why was the same noteven listed as a necessary condition?
Why did GSPCB in thefirst place not insist on an EIA in 2001 when coal pollution started beforegranting MPT consent to operate?
Why does GSPCB nothave permanent branch office or monitoring station in Vasco that 24x7 monitorsthe air ambient quality and bay water quality in areas that are directlyaffected by MPT’s operations?
Why has GSPCB neverinsisted on being a part of EIA research into all the port related projectsrather than studying the final report and signing on the dotted lines?
Why has GSPCB notinsisted on examining the operations on all coal berths in Vasco 5A, 6A, 7, 10and 11 on a day to day basis for a six month tenure during dry season?
