A House committee will investigate the allegationof drug nexus against former home minister’s son Roy Naik. Chief ministerManohar Parrikar has assured the assembly that house committee will be formedunder the chairmanship of Nuvem MLA Francisco (Mickky) Pachecco.
The chief minister said that the several members oflegislative assembly have inputs about Roy’s reported involvement in the drugnexus and also in demanding the protection money, when his father was the HomeMinister. “Once I will get the report from committee, after examining will handover to the team of unbiased police officer” Parrikar said. He has also toldthe committee to give the names of the police officers those who can be fit inthis team to investigate the matter.
The chief minister said that the state government hasadopted `no tolerance’ policy towards the trade of drugs and prostitution.
After the arrest of the Israeli national Yaniv Benian aliasAtala, the Roy’s name was appeared in the course of investigation and in media.Currently, the probe of alleged police politician’s drug mafia nexus is beingprobed by CBI.
