December 20, 2010: On a cold Stockholm morning Lucky Mångårdadid what probably few have in helping to break the politician-drug trade nexus.
Talking to Detective Inspector / Inquiry Leader Meelis Tüürat Stockholm County CID’s, Narcotics Division,the alleged Israeli drug lordAtala’s former companion described in graphic detail the drug peddler-police-politiconexus, where she put on record the direct involvement of the then Home MinisterRavi Naik’s son Roy Naik in the drug trade.
Lucky spoke to her examiners in the 115 minute longinterview that was interspersed with two video screenings.
Deals cooked in the kitchen
“She (Lucky) has seen him (Atala) hand over money on severaloccasions. This took place quite openly, the police just came into the kitchenand talked about business. On these occasions, Lucky stood alongside in thekitchen or in the hall. By and large they have not tried to conceal anything,they did not seem to bother.” Inspired by Scarlett Keeling’s murder
“When asked how she knows that the “boss” is the son of the minister,she answers that she got to know it a long time ago after in connection withthe death of Scarlet Keeling...the murder of the 15 year old English girl.
She saw it after when her mother started to protest that itwas being handled badly”.
Roy was the Boss of the Drug Thing
“When asked the name of this so-called Boss, she answersthat it is Roy Niike who is son of this…”home”... whatever minister he is. (Theperson that Atala refers to as “boss”). When asked whose son he was Lucky answersthat he was son of the “home minister Ravi Niike”.
Even Roy sold drugs
“They both met outside the church at Calamut (Calangute) andAtala was to hand over money a while later at Anjuna. Niike was not satisfiedthen with the amount of money but it should have been more. He wanted to have moremoney. When asked how much money Anjuna handed over, Lucky answered that shedoes not remember exactly how much money it was but that it was not enough.
Atala was given a respite to “day two”. When asked whetherLucky saw herself that there were drugs in the bag, she answers that she did.He showed, she asked what it was. It was everything conceivable, small rolledup things, mushrooms that actually looked like mushrooms, small dried things.It was not one drug but a number, they were all in the plastic bag. Atala wasgoing to the internet cafe to resell it.”
Roy threatened Lucky too
“It was in March 2008. And that she uploaded it in Niike’sname because he had then called and threatened. She did it once more anduploaded just to be bloody minded.”

The Goan: Was Roy Naik summoned anytime by CBI and did hedepose?
CBI: Yes he was and he was examined.
TG: Is the Roy Naik that Lucky mentions in her statement andthe Roy that CBI examined one and the same?
CBI: Yes. By now we are very clear on the identity of Roy Naikin Lucky’s Statement
TG: Why is there no action on Roy Naik then?
CBI: Lucky on only talks about Atala meeting Roy. In orderto initiate any action against any one we have to first recover drugs fromtheir custody?
TG: Then why was the translation done of Lucky’s statement?
CBI: Only her statement is not suffi cient when evidences supportingher statement don’t come out.
TG: How important is this translation for CBI?
CBI: It all depends on what they did at that time which we haveto see and establish.
TG: Why this hush-hush if the statements and video evidencesare all in the public domain?
CBI: We are in possession of all these but speaking outanything affects the case. It creates fresh bottlenecks in investigation. Informationleaks have the danger of us being accused of leading the case.
