The blatant and so vicious attack on the Judiciary by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is totally misplaced, unfounded and unjustified and has to be very firmly condemned.
After targeting the judges of the Andhra HC, Reddy has gone to the extent of maligning the very reputed and unamenable SC Justice N V Ramana who is set to be the next CJI. Is the ruling party at the centre working in conjunction and in collusion with the Andhra CM to unnecessarily malign and tarnish Justice Ramana’s image?
CJI Bobde himself recently stated that when a person is about to be elevated as a Judge or to some higher post, allegations surface to malign the image of such person.
The current CJI cannot abdicate his Constitutional duty while continuing to be a mere spectator, as he must expeditiously and judicially firmly step in by initiating Contempt of Court proceedings against the AP CM for having tarnished and maligned the Judiciary and even the second Senior most and very reputed Judge of the Supreme Court. Such malicious attacks must be resolutely nipped in the bud.
