The skewed move to appoint Sunil Arora as the Governor of Goa just days after his retirement as India’s CEC is in utter bad taste and absolutely inappropriate.
Is this the BJP’s way of rewarding the former CEC for the favours done?
The manner in which the Government kept Goa without a full time Governor for eight long months’ only indicates that the Goa Raj Bhavan slot was kept well planned for Sunil Arora to take over on his retirement as CEC.
The very fact that a Governor was not appointed for so long had correctly raised doubts that the government had already promised the post to its chosen one.
The BJP while in the Opposition had demanded that former judges must not be given post-retirement appointments at least for two years but once in Power has miserably failed to walk its own talk.
