It is evident that no single party can take on the might of BJP at the Centre. Congress is the only national party as opposed to regional parties. But it looks like Congress is untouchable because of its perceived past glory. The BJP strategy is to demolish the opposition by poaching, defections and by letting loose the central agencies to book the corrupt. BJP is exploiting to the hilt caste, religious politics, intolerance , hatred and appeasement to Hindutva, mandirs and monuments.
It is the multiplicity of parties that ensures BJP a winning formula. BJP with 33 per cent vote share shows that the mandate is against them. The politicians must veer round to two-party system and that is most unlikely because of egos and pride. The national party by KCR will not tilt the balance. The AAP is now pursuing national ambitions has established itself in Punjab and making inroads in Gujarat. AAP is being hounded in Delhi with serious allegations.The only alternative is to seriously make it a two-way contest in all constituencies to stop division of votes.
