Bryan Adams finally rocks Goa

Canadian rock icon Bryan Adams brought the curtains down on the India leg of his So Happy It Hurts World Tour with a powerful performance on Tuesday. Nearly 10,000 fans gathered at the Bambolim Athletic Stadium to enjoy an unforgettable night of music. The crowd enthusiastically sang along to timeless hits like Summer of ‘69, (Everything I Do) I Do It for You, Heaven, and tracks from his Grammy-nominated album So Happy It Hurts.

The incredible 65-year-old rock legend performed non-stop for nearly two hours. Even when his band took two breaks, Adams continued solo, captivating the audience with a variety of guitars and a mouth organ. As the final notes faded, he and his band exited the stage to thunderous applause, leaving the crowd with cherished memories of a night filled with world-class soft rock music under Goa’s starry skies. Considering the passion Goans have for international live music, it’s time for the Tourism Department to promote such rock concerts by international artists and bands. These events not only entertain music-loving Goans but also attract foreign tourists, showcasing Goa as a global music destination.

On the other hand, fully supporting controversial EDM festivals like Sunburn, which are often linked to drug culture, does little to enhance Goa’s reputation. Such festivals mainly cater to attendees from neighbouring states who neither appreciate international music nor understand the difference between live performances and recorded tracks. Instead, the focus should be on promoting quality music events that celebrate artistry and talent. Thank you, Bryan Adams, for an incredible night! Please keep returning to Goa, as Goans deeply love you and your music.

An event of this scale should have been better planned, especially regarding parking for four-wheelers. Cars were parked haphazardly, including along the busy highway, creating a dangerous situation. It is essential for event managers to select venues with adequate parking facilities. In today’s world, where…
