At the Undir bridge in Ponda, exposed chambers have been noticed on either side of the pavement. Hence pedestrians walking along this bridge are likely to collapse inside the open chambers thereby leading to serious consequences. The situation turns more dangerous during the night. Indeed, senior citizens would be at greater risk. It is necessary that the exposed chambers are covered with necessary iron plates on a priority basis so that the pedestrians are assured safety on a permanent basis. Since prevention is better than cure, let us hope that the authorities would initiate prompt positive action in public interest. The existing dangerous situation must improve at all costs.
