At the peak of the Covid second wave more than 74 Goans and others starved for oxygen and died in GMC during the so-called dark hours during which the level of oxygen supply went low or got cut off. Initially doctors and ministers accepted that the deaths were due to oxygen shortage but now they are lying that the deaths were not due to shortage of oxygen. People need a fair enquiry in this incident.
People are now facing a second part of the dark hours in the Goa Assembly. During the dark hours of the night the Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill was passed when all Goans were sleeping to wake up in the morning to tell them that most of them are about to lose their land and houses to people who have resided in their properties for the last 30 years.
Developing countries are manipulating democracy and are still in the corruption mode. When our late former president APJ Kalam died in 2015 his only possessions were six shirts, four trousers, a wrist watch, 2,500 books and a pair of shoes. He should be a model for all our elected representatives to emulate.
