Goa is hosting 37th National games from October 23 and hence Directorate of Education and government of Goa has rescheduled school holidays from October 25 to November 18. However some have objected stating that the holidays have affected planning of parents schedule and there is no holiday for Tulsi Vivah which falls on November 25. All Hindus celebrate Diwali and every household keeps 'aakash deep' and lighted lamp at home in the evening for all days upto Tulsi Vivah day. Government has rescheduled the holidays for a purpose and if required can declare one day holiday on Tulsi Vivah day. The said holidays will help government for infrastructure arrangements and bus services required for the participants. Since it's an opportunity for Goa to host and showcase their hospitality during the events, the people have to support and adjust their schedules accordingly. The government has only rescheduled the holidays which should not be an issue for criticism.
