I have seen reports and videos of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Environment Minister Aleixo Sequiera appealing to the public particularly the younger generation to respect the environment, grow trees, reduce plastic pollution, etc. While at the same time in a disappointing contrast, the Goa government is converting huge parcels of green/eco-sensitive areas to unsustainable development and with it destroying thousands of trees, cutting so many hills, filling fields/waterbodies etc. the extent of destruction is horrific and huge compared to the “cosmetic” changes the CM and Ministers are asking the public to implement. I request the Goa Chief Minister, Environment Minister and all other ministers including the Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane to please first lead by example and practice first before preaching hypocrisy.
