Govt websites needed in regional languages

There are tens of web sites / homepages of ministries and departments of the governments (Central and States). The information is usually in English while in some sites there is an option to choose Hindi and the web sites of States have provision for the regional language. As per the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, India officially recognises 22 languages, that are considered the major literary languages and officially encouraged for usage. Therefore, there should be a facility to translate the contents of the homepages (information, forms, links, figures etc.) in all the 22 languages. This would be convenient for the people to opt for the language of their choice and to obtain news and knowledge of the various arms of the governments. Given the calibre that India has in information technology, the above suggestion will not be tough to implement. The citizens would appreciate the governments for this simple and helpful gesture.
