Hats off to those villagers for saving our environment

Practically everyday we hear of housing villa projects coming up in Goa ( Two examples, Pomburpa and Camurlim in North Goa) where in many cases, the TCP ministry bypassing various environmental safeguards/laws are blindly giving approvals to destroy the environment, ecosystems, forests, trees and most of these projects appear to have “wealthy” backers from outside Goa.   The only time I heard the TCP minister Vishwajit Rane making a pro-environment noise was when Michael Lobo was in the Congress and his fraudulent projects were pulled up ( now all has gone cold as Michael has rejoined BJP). It appears that all associated with the TCP ministry are in a hurry to “make hay while the sun shines” and I applaud those villagers/Goans taking a stand against these real estate middle men/politicians selling out and destroying Goa!

Villages are no place for EDM festivals

It is learnt that Mopa residents have raised objections to the Sunburn Festival that is proposed to be held in the village. They have alleged that it is not a festival but a party where illegal activities including consumption of drugs, etc. take place. The villagers have appealed to the government authorities not to give the necessary permission to organize the festival at Mopa.
