The decision of the Congress and the Goa Forward Party to form a pre-poll alliance for the forthcoming Assembly polls in Goa lends credence to the belief that in the filthy game of dog-eat-dog politics and political survival, there are no permanent enemies or friends. ‘Forgive and forget’ appears to be the mantra to be followed, never mind the pride, arrogance and the bitter exchange of accusations and acrimony that characterised the past. What matters most is the need to form the next govt in Goa and to dislodge the incumbent BJP government. If this be the case why not offer an olive branch to the 10 Congress MLAs who defected to the BJP? A ‘Ghar Wapasi’ may well do the trick.
