It’s time politicians have retirement age


All good things have to come to an end and Luizinho Faleiro must have realized that he has reached the end of the tunnel. But instead of gracefully hanging his boots he has without any clarity tried in vain to confusingly justify his expected departure. 

Wasn’t it amusing to hear him say that he suffered silently for the last four and a half years? Why did he have to? His suffering pales into insignificance when compared to the suffering of the populace as a result of his inaction and lack of ideas to present a formidable alternative to a failing government.

Politics is no longer a call for service to what was once a noble mission. Politics today is an investment not a vocation, often compared to the world’s oldest profession for the right reasons. 

It is about time that we have a retirement age for politicians so that geriatric senile faces are rested to enable them spend their retirement babysitting their grandchildren. 

This will make the much needed room to infuse young experienced and talented blood into the political mainstream which currently is in dire straits.
