In a few days from now Goa will complete 60 years of its liberation. During the last 6 decades much development has taken place -- electrification of villages; supply of potable water in rural Goa; building of roads; opening of more schools, colleges and Goa university; opening of more hospitals and health centres, etc. On the other hand, the people of Goa are shocked by the Centre's decision to pass a Bill that will give MPT complete autonomy whereby it will have power to lease half of Goa's coastline to private players like Adani. This is part of the larger plan to make Goa a transit hub for coal that will turn green Goa into black.
Finally, after 60 years the people of Goa still face many problems and would like to have answers to these few questions : When will we get regular supply of water and electricity ? When will we get good and safe roads to commute ? When will taxis in Goa charge fares according to the meter ? The day people receive good service in these areas will be a great day in the history of liberated Goa.
