That was US President Donald Trump’s slogan that galvanised the white supremacists to vote for him. USA is a great country but under Trump’s leadership the country was falling apart.
Many of his decisions were debatable. The failed wall of Mexico looked no comparison to the Great Wall of China. The death of lakhs of Americans made it the highest country to be mauled by Covid. The killing of Iranian military leader cannot be counted as great event, like the sensational elimination of the illusive Bin Laden.
The softening of stand on North Korea assumed false hopes of USA being in the reckoning. The controversy raging in US after elections is a great dishonour to the country. The withdrawal of grants to WHO did not receive accolades from world leaders. The tirade against China has not cowed it down as yet.
The only redeeming gesture and grace is some thaw on Afghanistan war. Trump must step down with grace, humility and assure smooth transition of power in the highest tradition of US democracy.
US will not be seen as great nation by greed of those who want to remain in power by encouraging violence against the rule of law and public order.
