In the very shocking and untimely death of Martin Carrasco we have lost a very humble human who tirelessly served mankind with a passion. We have lost a promising shining Star who was a friend to all and particularly a comfort to the poor and destitute.
Over the last five years he was a very active and successful Councillor of the Mapusa Municipal Council. This March as his Ward was reserved for Women, his wife Barbara contested and was elected.
He was a very committed person in serving the needy with zeal. Always humble, simple and down to earth. At all times ever so calm with a positive mental attitude and a good listener he was.
He was an ideal role model to all those in public life. He was available to the needy around the clock and would go out of the way in rendering yeoman service to his fellow people.
Some politicians today depart leaving heaps of illegal wealth amassed but Martin has gone leaving behind a multitude of friends, fans and well wishers who have been witness to a great person that he was and the dedicated service to society that he selflessly rendered.
The always God fearing gentleman Martin has gone but his good deeds will remain in our memory for times to come.
