New low of wickedness

Washing dirty linen in public is the forte of Pakistan. The distasteful comment of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Butto Zardari in the UN that PM Narendra Modi is a butcher of Gujarat needs to be condemned in no uncertain terms. In international fora, making personal attacks is considered a taboo. The comment is both heinous and utterly wicked. He was retorting India’s statement that Pakistan was the epicentre of terrorism.

Surprisingly, instead of working to erase the impression of ‘epicenter of terrorism’ from the collective mind of the world countries, Bhutto seems to be happy in living with the notorious epithet. His grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto too was infamous for using unpleasant language against India. His statement that he would continue war with India for one thousand years is much too well known. As a foreign minister Bilawal should be aware that living in peace with India and building a new developing Pakistan should be a part of his foreign policy. It is high time Bilawal threw away the acrimonious  legacy of his grandfather, to pave the way for a peaceful co-existence with India in the best interest of both the countries.
