It’s been a few months since the eight Congress MLAs joined the BJP and they have not been given their dues in terms of positions and portfolios. These eight having lost face, are dwelling in paralyzed modes in the Assembly unable to speak or even make newer demands.
The Speaker is dilli dallying with their respective disqualification petitions till opportune time permits. Their disqualification processes in limbo and a mere formality of being annulled to the advantage of the ruling dispensation which otherwise should have been handled by a more versatile independent forum.
There has been no developmental works carried out in their constituencies as promised by them, to the disillusionment of their constituents. Democracy as a whole should reign in defections by ammending the anti defection laws so as to make it impossible for defections to take place. The constituents should constantly ask them to show or remind them of the promised development works and to target them repeatedly for want of fulfilling these most needed precious works. This is a major abbe ration on the political landscape wherein the will of the electorate has been twisted and maligned, and unable to uphold the rule of law in all decency and sincerety.
