We understand that due to the beach parties which go on throughout the night disturbs the peace, health and minds of the locals. Some children also face difficulty while studying. I agree with the decision to stop the loud music by 10:00 pm. Tourists comes to Goa for fun and enjoyment due the event of Christmas by spending lots of money and when they do not have fun on Christmas and New Year’s day, they will be disappointed and will take a decision to go somewhere else for their holidays.
However, there are religious events taking place on the same day. Musical events, carol singing organised by the parishes and the traditional Christmas eve’s dance should be given permission by the government authorities to keep the traditional alive. The weddings in Goa will also be affected by the decision. However, this can be remedied by adhering to the timings so that people in the surrounding areas do not get affected.
Keeping tourism in mind, we request the government to give permission for the loud music to be played till 11:00 pm. Exceptions can be made for Christmas and other special occasions to maintain traditions.
