The current ruling party is now completing two terms and in an objective way I am sure that Goans are aware of what they have delivered to us in this time. From my point of view, the current ruling class has been an absolute disaster on various fronts, to name a few -- highest unemployment in India, corruption (now at all-time high), severe environmental destruction and mostly done to cater to select corporates, taking family politics to a new level, severe degradation of democracy by triggering so many defections/horse-trading and making our votes a mockery, criminals and scamsters being given party tickets instead of being prosecuted by the law, insanely highest debt ever etc. The list goes on. And in all this while, the ruling MLAs and particularly the ministers have got insanely rich.
Yes, there are faults with the opposition parties and if they get to power, they also must be kept in strict check. But two things Goans have to remember: (1) If this ruling party has failed to deliver in two terms (2nd one in power via manipulation of democracy i.e. purchasing opposition MLAs as they did not get most seats), do Goans really think they will deliver on the 3rd team if at all they will get even more arrogant if they get to power again; which will be much worse for us.! (2) There are some new faces in the opposition parties including some that I think are much more educated/credible/competent than any of the extremely low-grade ones we have in power today, I would want the new faces to be elected and hopefully be part of the new ruling class..... Bottom line I see no hope with the current ruling class, and we must change them, to have a chance for Goa to progress.
