Grace Icon, Bicholim beat Titans, Velguem to win the 15th Goa State Tennis Ball Cricket Championship for Women organised by Tonca Art & Sports Authority in collaboration with Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association on Saturday at SAG ground, Campal. The 12-team tournament was played on a league cum knockout basis.
Prizes: Winners - Grace Icon, Runners-up - Titans, Other semifinalists - Nageshi Youth & Rising, Bicholim, Best disciplined team - Porvorim Smashers, Best up-and-coming team - Rita Conquerors; Player of the final - Ridah Shaikh of Grace Icon, Best batter - Sweetie of Grace Icon, Best bowler - Neha Chari of Titans Velguem, Woman of the championship - Sweetie of Grace Icon, Best catch - Sharmila Landge of Mahaganapati, Best emerging player of the championship - Saisha Dhare of Shivaji Sports Club
Bento Lorena, Corporator, City of Corporation of Panaji, was the chief guest at the prize presentation function. Also present were Steffi Cardozo, Asst Project officer, SAG; Sandhya Paliekar, Vice President, TBCFI; Dattaram Balekar, Inspector, CCP; Vinod Naik and Chandan Dongrekar.
