The BJP is misusing the 75th Independence Day by conducting such exhibitions like partition horrors. It is like ‘experts’ blaming the cricket captain’s decision to opt for batting and so losing the match. Here, the match cannot be re-played with India opting for bowling and then winning. Easy to criticise in this fashion where there is no proof of the alternative. The circumstances and volatile nature in 1947 was mind boggling. Importantly what might have been in terms of bloodshed could have been worse had the same not been a part of the solution. You cannot give any alternative foolproof decision today, even with hindsight. The current BJP, in peaceful times has caused horrors with even deaths with their demonetisation. The GST is another killer. The return of migrants by foot with no food or water during the Covid lockdown: these are the current day horrors from irresponsible leaders. No jobs, high inflation, high prices of commodities all causing horrors but suppressed by the paid media is incomprehensible and affords the BJP no authority to criticize the partition. The public must see through these cons.
