Besides not having proper access, people living in the remote Kadel ward in Kavrem-Pirla village in Pernem taluka, also lacked proper drinking water facility and had no taps.
A private company reportedly made provisions to tap the nearby springs to take the drinking water to the households in the village through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The company constructed a tank on the top of a nearby hill and connected it with a 24-hour water supply to the households through individual tanks.
It must be said that several remote villages in the State lack basic necessities like proper access, lack of drinking water, no electricity, no schools, etc.
At the same time there are several companies setting up shop in the villages. These companies need to come to the rescue of these villagers by providing them the basic necessities through the CSR initiative.
It would be prudent for the village elders along with the panchayat members to approach the company with the needs of the villagers and request the company to fulfill their basic needs through the company’s CSR initiative.
The remote villages may not be under the radar of the government for development and hence their needs may not be met. It is for the private companies to fill the void.
