A main valve pertaining to water supply in the vicinity of Bakhle Motor Works along the Dhavali by-pass road in Ponda has been noticed in a leaking condition for quite long.
As a result, a large quantity of water gets wasted. People at many locations in the state, especially the remote ones do not receive adequate quantity of water for consumption and also for undertaking household activities.
As far as the water valves are concerned, we notice some of them existing in a leaking condition for a considerable period of time. Perhaps regular maintenance work at these valves has not been undertaken by the concerned competent authorities.
Many of them even lack a protective cover. It is time for the higher officials at the Public Works Department (Water Division) in Ponda to take a note of above and assure regular maintenance work at different locations so that wastage of the much precious water ends.
Let us hope that prompt positive action would be initiated in this matter.
