Road deaths: need for preventive measures

The call by the KTC General Manager, S L Ghate for taking measures to avoid road accidents, is noteworthy. The increasing number of road accidents seems to have prompted him to make this call. He rightly states that negligence is the root cause of accidents and that the driver thinks he is the king on the road while driving. 

This is the case everywhere in the country especially in cities like Mumbai & Delhi among others. Needless to say, all precautions must be taken to prevent accidents even that one accident must be avoided as every single life is precious. 

All motorists across the country must heed the call of S L Ghate to act responsibly. The words at a Church graveyard come to mind, 'Aiz Maka, Falea Tuka' -- we all know what that means -- which translates into something like 'Me Today You Tomorrow'.

After ten months of the pandemic, life is gradually limping back to normalcy.
