Many people have lost their lives across Goa in serious road accidents from January 2023 to July 2023. Well, some might say that the root cause for this ongoing trend is due to bad roads but I feel that the main reason for most road accidents in the state is because some people just do not know to concentrate and drive in Goa. The second reason is due to free availability of alcohol every few metres throughout the State. And since our governments have not bothered to improve the public transport services in the state, most people are seen using their own two/four wheeler vehicles to move around everywhere & in the bargain creating more chaos on our already congested roads. I feel that until and unless the government of the day does not improve public transport services in the state on top priority basis, does not put strict restrictions over the sale of liquor, casually keeps encouraging people to buy/use their own two/four wheeler vehicles to create more chaos on our already congested roads and does not stops the RTO officials from indulging in malpractices, Goans cannot expect safety on roads.
